SKW Solutions, LLC is looking for a Brick Mason General Contractor with the following skills:
We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in masonry work, including laying bricks, blocks, and stones, and have the ability to read blueprints and follow specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brick and Block Laying: Construct walls, partitions, and other structures using bricks, blocks, and stones. Ensure the alignment, level, and consistency of the masonry work.
- Mortar Application: Mix and apply mortar to bricks and stones, ensuring proper bonding and durability.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and layout.
- Measurement and Layout: Measure and cut materials to size, and accurately layout and position materials according to project plans.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on existing masonry structures, including repointing and replacing damaged materials.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of tools and materials.
- Tool and Equipment Use: Operate masonry tools and equipment, including trowels, levels, and power tools. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with other construction professionals, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, to complete projects on time and to specification.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Mason, with a strong understanding of masonry techniques and materials.
- Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings, strong manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in masonry is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous but not required.
